Mascot Assault?

According to the Smoking Gun, Adrian McPherson is suing the Tennessee Titans for $20 million for an incident in the preseason where he was injured for the season by T-Rac, the Titan’s mascot, during pregame warmups.

Hopefully this will get mascots off of the field when players are present. I know I am tired of seeing them recklessly driving all over the field in 4-wheelers, trying to peer out of the tiny eye-holes in their costumes while waving a flag or shooting t-shirts into the stands. Players have enough to worry about before a game. Looking out for a costumed Raccoon zipping around the field on a motorized vehicle doesn’t need to be one of them.

Unrelated other than the fact that both stories involve a golf cart, but I enjoyed Marshawn Lynch’s golf cart celebration after a Cal win this year.

I still marvel at the fact that sports mascots even exist. I would challenge team owners to find one adult who actually enjoys their presence.
