Jason Garrett to stay with Dallas Cowboys

I’m not sure how Jerry did it, but Jason Garrett is going to stay with Dallas Cowboys:

After going through second interviews with Baltimore and Atlanta, and having been offered the Ravens’ job earlier in the week, Garrett has decided to continue his work as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator, according to sources.

Nice work, Jerry! I think we all know that Garrett is the future HC of the Cowboys. Hopefully the ‘Boys can have a repeat offensive performance next year, with some improvement in December.

Edit:  Garrett was made assistant head coach, and it is rumored he is receiving a $3 million/year contract, making him the highest paid assistant head coach in the NFL.

Is Dallas Just Doomed?

Are we doomed for playoff disappointment? Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the 3rd straight first-game/series loss for DFW sports? Mavs, Stars, and Cowboys? Of course we can’t forget the Mavs losing to the Heat.

According to the AP recap via nfl.com:

The Cowboys couldn’t capitalize on a 13-3 season, which matched the best in team history. They’re the first No. 1 seed in the NFC to lose in this round since the NFL went to the 12-team playoff format in 1990. They also became the seventh team to lose a playoff game against a team they’d beaten twice in the regular season — joining Dallas’ 1998 club.

The Cowboys have now set a record for consecutive post-season losses, and apparently this is the first time since the new format that the #1 seed has not advanced to the Conference Championship.

Then, I listen to the Wade Phillips press conference, and he doesn’t seem mad or motivated, he just points out that the Cowboys won TOP, rushed for more yards, and had more sacks than the Giants. I guess he just forgot that one other stat, points.

In related news, Jason Garrett could very well be the next Head Coach of the Baltimore Ravens.
