Should I Stay Or Should I Go?

Gillispie to ArkansasThe past week has been quite a rollercoaster for fans of Texas A&M basketball.

First came the rumors on Monday that Billy Gillispie was headed to Arkansas:

After the announcement about Heath, FOXsports.com reported that Gillispie was likely to be the next Arkansas coach. The same source said Gillispie had agreed in principle to a contract, and he could be introduced as early as Tuesday. (Read the article)

13 Years Ago… The Beginning of the End

13 years ago today, Jerry Jones fired Jimmy Johnson as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. The decision was mutual, and the press conference was a little too friendly for the circumstances:

“We’ve had hours of candid discussions the last two days,” said Mr. Johnson, “and I can sincerely tell you that I feel better today about Jerry Jones as a friend than I have in our entire relationship. After our discussions, we mutually decided I would no longer be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.”

If only they could have kept their egos in check, the Cowboys of the 90’s would have gone down as the greatest team of all time.  Of course, this is the story that put The Ticket on the map, so it wasn’t all bad.
